Privacy Policy

Last updated: 4 October 2026 · Applies to meozturk.com, SmartWake, DriveMedia, LessonBook, DeskDrop and WristNote

This page explains what data this website and my apps handle. The short version: this website collects nothing, my apps have no servers of their own — except DeskDrop, which needs one so teachers and students can share homework — and each app below has its own section.

1.Who is responsible

This website and the SmartWake, DriveMedia, LessonBook, DeskDrop and WristNote apps are operated by Mehmet Emin Öztürk (meozturk.com). You can reach me at support@meozturk.com for any privacy question or request.

2.This website

meozturk.com sets no cookies, runs no analytics, and loads no third-party resources — no external fonts, scripts or trackers. There is nothing to consent to, so there is no cookie banner.

Your colour theme choice (light or dark) is saved in your browser's local storage so the site remembers it on your next visit. It stays in your browser, is not a cookie, and is never sent to me or anyone else.

Like almost every website, the hosting provider (İHS, Istanbul, Türkiye) keeps standard server logs — IP address, browser user agent, requested page, timestamp — for security and abuse prevention. These logs are kept for a short period (30 days) and are not used for anything else.

3.SmartWake (Apple Watch)

SmartWake is a smart alarm for Apple Watch. To find the best moment to wake you, it reads two things during your wake window:

All processing happens on the watch. SmartWake has no server, no account system, no analytics and no ads. Heart rate and motion are read and used on the watch to time your alarm. Alarm settings, alarm state and sleep statistics sync between your watch and your paired iPhone using Apple's on-device mechanisms (WatchConnectivity and a shared app group) so the iPhone app and widgets can show them — they never leave your devices, are never shared with me or any third party, and are never used for advertising or marketing.

You control HealthKit access at any time in the Health app (Sharing → Apps → SmartWake). Deleting the app removes everything it stored. Your heart rate history itself stays in Apple Health, under Apple's control and your settings, as it did before installing SmartWake.

4.DriveMedia (iPhone)

DriveMedia plays the audio and video files you already keep in your own Microsoft OneDrive or Dropbox. It has no server, no account system of its own, no analytics and no ads. I never receive your files, the contents of your cloud storage or any information about them.

What the app accesses

Where the data stays

Sign-in tokens are stored in the device keychain, separately for each connected account. Files you download are stored on your device. Neither is transmitted to me or to any third party; the app's only network connections are made directly between your device and the servers of Microsoft and Dropbox.

How the data is used

Information obtained through the Microsoft Graph API and the Dropbox API is used only to provide the app's browsing, playback and download features on your device. It is not transferred to anyone, not used for advertising, and not used to train any AI or machine learning model. No human reads it.

Revoking access

In Settings, tap Disconnect next to an account to sign out of it and remove its stored token; any other connected account is not affected. For Dropbox, this also revokes the app's access on Dropbox's side. You can also revoke access yourself at any time: for Microsoft, in your Microsoft account's privacy settings, under the apps and services that can access your data; for Dropbox, in your Dropbox account settings, under Connected apps. Deleting the app removes everything it downloaded. iOS may keep sign-in tokens in the keychain after an app is deleted, so disconnect in Settings first, or revoke access from your account as described above.

5.LessonBook (iPhone & Android)

LessonBook is a planner and payment tracker for private tutors. Everything you enter — students, lessons, fees, payment records — is stored only on your device. The app has no account system, no server, no analytics and no ads, and it makes no network connections of its own. I never receive your records or any information about them.

Student records

The records you keep may describe your students, including minors. They exist only on your device and under your control, exactly like a paper lesson notebook. As the teacher, you remain responsible for those records; the app is only the notebook.

Notifications

Lesson reminders are local notifications scheduled on your device with your permission. No reminder data leaves the phone.

Backups

The Backup tab creates a single JSON file containing all of your records and hands it to the system share sheet, so you choose where it goes — Files, your own cloud drive, or email. That file never passes through me. Treat it like the notebook itself: it contains everything, so store it somewhere you trust.

Deleting data

Delete individual records in the app, or delete the app to remove everything it stores. Backup files you exported remain wherever you saved them, under your control.

6.DeskDrop (iPhone, Android & web)

DeskDrop is a homework app: teachers give assignments, students hand in photos or PDFs of their work, and teachers review it. Unlike my other apps, DeskDrop has a server, at hw.meozturk.com, so that teachers and students can share work. It has no analytics, no ads and no tracking, and nothing is sold or used for advertising.

What is stored

Who can see what

A student sees only their own work and their class's assignments and announcements. A teacher sees the students of their own classes and only the work handed in for their own assignments. Files are only served to signed-in users who are allowed to see them, never through public links.

Service providers

Cookies on the web version

The web version at hw.meozturk.com uses only strictly necessary cookies: a session cookie that keeps you signed in, a security token against forged requests, and your language, theme and sidebar preferences. There are no analytics or advertising cookies.

Students and minors

Students are often minors. A student account can only be opened with an invite code from their teacher, and it holds only what homework needs: no email address, no phone number, no location, no contacts. Teachers and schools decide which students to invite and are responsible for obtaining any consent from parents or guardians that their local law requires.

How long data is kept, and deleting it

Data is kept while the account exists. Anyone can delete their own account in the app under Settings → Delete my account. Deleting a student account removes their submissions and uploaded files. Deleting a teacher account removes their assignments, announcements and files, and also the classes where they are the only teacher, together with those students' accounts. A teacher can also deactivate a student, which stops them signing in but keeps their history. Deleting the app alone does not delete the account. You can also ask for deletion by writing to support@meozturk.com; the steps are on Delete your DeskDrop account.

Deleting the account does not cancel a subscription; cancel it in your App Store or Google Play account settings.

7.WristNote (Apple Watch & iPhone)

WristNote records voice notes on Apple Watch and turns them into text on your paired iPhone. It has no server, no account system, no analytics and no ads, and it does not track you. I never receive your recordings, your transcripts or any information about them.

Microphone

Only the Apple Watch app uses the microphone, with your permission, and only while you are recording. The iPhone app never records audio. You can turn microphone access off at any time in your Apple Watch's privacy settings.

Transfer between your devices

When you stop a recording, it is saved on the watch as an .m4a audio file and sent to your paired iPhone through Apple's WatchConnectivity framework, which carries data between a watch and its paired iPhone. No server of mine is involved. The original stays on the watch until the iPhone confirms it has saved its copy, so nothing is lost while the phone is out of reach. The recording language you choose on the iPhone reaches the watch the same way.

Transcription

Transcripts are created on your iPhone by Apple's on-device speech models. Your audio is never uploaded for transcription. The first time you use a language, iOS may need to download that language's model from Apple; the download does not include your recordings. Which languages are available depends on your iPhone and on Apple's model support.

Where the data stays

Recordings, transcripts, titles and lists are stored only inside WristNote on your Apple Watch and iPhone, protected by the device's data protection. They are not synced through iCloud and are excluded from device backups, including iCloud and computer backups — so they do not come back after you restore a device or reinstall the app. Your recording language, and whether you have seen the welcome screen, are kept as ordinary app settings on the device. The home screen widget only opens the app; it shows no recordings or transcripts.

Sharing and copying

Nothing leaves your devices unless you send it yourself. Share audio on a recording card opens the system share sheet with a copy of that recording as an .m4a file. The app or place you choose — Files, AirDrop, Mail, a messaging app — receives that copy and handles it under its own terms. The copy button next to a transcript puts the text on this iPhone's clipboard only, not on your other devices through Universal Clipboard, and the copied text expires after two minutes.

Deleting data

On iPhone, Delete on a recording card removes that recording's audio and transcript from the iPhone after you confirm. The watch keeps its own copy until you remove it: in Recordings on the watch, swipe a recording marked Saved on iPhone. Deleting a list keeps its recordings. Deleting the app from a device removes everything it stored there. Copies you shared elsewhere are not affected — delete them where you sent them.

8.Your rights

Where the GDPR or a similar law applies to you, you have the right to access, correct, delete and receive a copy of your personal data, to restrict or object to its processing, and to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority. Since the website collects nothing and my apps other than DeskDrop store nothing off-device, there is usually no personal data to act on outside DeskDrop — but you can send any request to support@meozturk.com and I will answer within 30 days.

9.Children

This website and my apps are not directed at children under 13, and I do not knowingly collect personal data from children. The exception is DeskDrop, where students — who may be children — join through their teacher; see DeskDrop for what is stored and how it is deleted.

10.Changes

If this policy changes, the new version appears on this page with an updated date. Meaningful changes to an app's data practices are also noted in that app's store listing notes.
