Delete your DeskDrop account
You can delete your DeskDrop account and the data that belongs to it at any time, whether you are a teacher or a student. There are three ways to do it.
1.In the app
- Open DeskDrop and sign in.
- Go to Settings and tap Delete my account at the bottom.
- Enter your password and tap Delete permanently.
The account is deleted immediately and you are signed out on every device.
2.On the web
- Sign in at hw.meozturk.com.
- Go to Settings → Profile and find Delete my account at the bottom.
- Enter your password, click Delete permanently and confirm.
The account is deleted immediately and you are signed out on every device.
3.By email
If you can't sign in, write to support@meozturk.com with the subject Delete my DeskDrop account, and include your username.
- Teachers: write from the email address on your account, so I can confirm it is yours.
- Students: student accounts have no email address, so I may ask your teacher to confirm the request. You can also ask your teacher to write for you.
I delete the account within 30 days of confirming the request and reply when it is done.
4.What is deleted
- Student account: name, username, password, language preference, every assignment record, the photos, scans and PDFs you uploaded, and your notes.
- Teacher account: name, email address, username, password, language preference, your assignments, announcements, documents and their files, your invite codes and reviews. Classes where you are the only teacher are deleted too, together with the accounts and work of the students in them. Classes you share with other teachers stay with them.
- Both: notification tokens and sign-in tokens of your devices, and the record of any in-app subscription.
5.What is kept
- Nothing from the account is kept in DeskDrop once it is deleted. The hosting provider's automatic backups may still contain it until they are overwritten (up to 30 days).
- The hosting provider's standard server logs (IP address, requested page, time) are kept for a short period for security, as described in the privacy policy, and are then removed.
- Apple and Google keep their own purchase records under their policies. Deleting the account does not cancel a subscription: cancel it in your App Store or Google Play account settings.
For everything DeskDrop stores and why, see the DeskDrop section of the privacy policy.
